Despite Problems GoPro HERO6 Could be Announced this Year

Let’s admit it. Things aren’t really going very smoothly as far as GoPro is concerned. It had a disastrous last year with the failed launch of the Karma drone, its consequent withdrawal from the market and then its reintroduction a few days back. The production of the GoPro HERO5 has also seen setbacks and delays. With all this happening we now have confirmation from GoPro CEO Nick Woodman that the GoPro HERO6 would be announced this year.

“Yes, we can confirm there will be new cameras and other accessories released during the year and new camera namely being HERO6. But we’re not going to share any information as to the timing or any other details around the release of those new products as you can imagine”, he said in an interview to Seeking Alpha.

Earlier there were rumors that launch of the GoPro HERO6 could be pushed back to next year because of the above mentioned problems, but it seems GoPro is bullish on the HERO6 and is in no mood to disappoint its customers after the Karma incident.

  • I think it’s very likely that Hero6 comes as soon as possible since Ambarella H2 chip is now available. It was recently introduced in YI 4K+ camera that offers 4K at 60fps and image stabilization up to 4K 30fps.
